Sending crypto to the wrong address is one of the most stressful beginner mistakes, and understanding it upfront is the best way to avoid it.
The hard truth is that most blockchain transactions are final. Once a transfer is confirmed, there is no bank or support desk that can reverse it. Where your funds end up depends on the address you sent to. If it belongs to a person or company you can identify and contact, you might politely ask them to return it, though they are under no obligation. If it is a random valid address no one controls, or a made-up one, the funds are almost certainly gone for good.
A different risk is sending a coin on the wrong network, which can also lose the funds.
This is exactly why careful habits matter so much. Always double-check the full address, confirm you are using the correct network, and send a small test amount first before moving a large sum.
